Rapid Intervention for Teachers

Rapid Intervention for Teachers

Rapid Intervention for Teachers (RIFT) is an intensive one day program designed to prepare educators to respond to violence.  RIFT has a three part approach consisting of Awareness, Avoidance, and Aggression.  Passive Restraint Tactics trains attendees how to physically restrain violent individuals using gross motor skills, while at the same time protecting their airway and spine.

The second part is Unarmed Response To Active Shooter (URTAS) in which attendees learn how to remove themselves and others from the kill zone, and what to do if this is not possible.

RIFT is presented with a combination of lecture, hands on, and scenarios.  Each person attending the course will receive a certificate of attendance.  Course size is limited to 30 and pricing is available upon request.  Topics covered include-

  • Personal Security Concepts
  • Physical Security Concepts
  • Understanding the operational environment
  • What simple items could save your life
  • Passive Restraint Tactics
  • Unarmed Response To Active Shooter
